Description

Our very popular veg tan Hermann Oak leather in scrap pieces, sold by the pound. The scrap pieces will range in thickness from 4 to 10 ounces (7/64″ – 5/32″). They are perfect for small projects or for honing your carving and tooling skills, such as carving a Sheridan style flower. One pound will sometimes be one large piece, or a few smaller pieces, and can have scratches, stretch marks, or other imperfections. On average, each pound of scrap leather will be about 2 square feet. If you have any special requests, just ask in our “Comments” section during checkout, and we will do our best to accommodate you!

    Hey Rob, sorry the leather didn’t meet your expectations. Scrap leather is definitely only scrap leather, and is intended for small jobs or repair work. If cleanliness is more of a priority, I recommend trying a dedicated cut piece of Hermann Oak instead.

    Hello! I’m sorry the leather wasn’t to your liking. With scrap, in can be a little tricky getting the exact weight and cleanliness you might want for a project, but if those are necessary qualities I definitely recommend upgrading to a cut piece, which we do offer.

    It’s great thick &Toughleather for making tool belt attachment backing. The scraps Are perfect with a big enough area to (maybe?) get a couple of 2 inch wide belts.
    When I had trouble paying for it Jim? created a purchase order that I could log in and pay. And was patient with me when I didn’t write get how it worked, DOUH!

    Hey Kevin, I’m sorry to hear the leather wasn’t to your liking. With your description there, I’d recommend trying one of our cut pieces instead. Scrap leather will more often have those imperfections that you describe, whereas our cut pieces will not.

    Hey Michael! I’m sorry to hear about the leather getting soaked in the rain. We try to limit as much waste as possible, but plastic may be something that is necessary like you say.

    The leather itself was wonderful. The packaging is where there was an issue. The leather was just rolled in a cardboard box and when it was exposed to the rain the leather soaked up the water and I lost about a square foot of the leather to being stained a different color by the water. Some simple plastic wrap could prevent this.
