As a small business owner, I sometimes have to shop for unique one-off hides in special colors to satisfy customer orders. The guys at Montana Leather have gone above and beyond to help me, looking for the right color leather, getting orders of buckles and hardware together and being extra patient with me. I also live on the opposite end of the country, so I've done everything over the phone with them. I can't say enough good things about them. If you're looking for saddlery supplies, or equestrian type items, this is the place. They sell very large pieces of leather, and since they didn't have what I was looking for(bolo tie tips), I wasn't all that impressed. But I'm sure if you were looking for a lot of leather, this is the place

Staff is awesome for the most part. Most of the products are middle of the road but there are some gems to be found if you spend enough time sorting through the hides. Definately my go to spot for prototyping leather for new bags.

You get what you order. You order a grade A hide that is what you get not a blemish at all. And their shearling hides i am proud to use on any saddle build. And you don't have to wait forever, shipping is fast.

This is a fantastic leatherwork shop. They don't have EVERYTHING. But they have a huge variety of things. You can walk in and walk out with every single thing needed to complete a project. This shop is 75% geared towards saddles and things of that nature. They generally have a very good selection of leather. From cow, bison to kangaroo. You do need to go through a decent amount of leather to find a top selection quality side. But, it is worth it. The staff is extremely friendly and do their best to answer questions. They carry alot of top name brands in everything. Leather brands ranging from Horween, Hermann Oak, and Wickett and Craig to cheaper brands to make excellent leather goods from. Plenty of scrap to practice on or to make something from for much cheaper vs an entire side.
