What is MTL Latigo?
MTL latigo is another popular variant of latigo that we offer at Montana Leather. It has a slightly redder tint to it than our premium latigo, but still has great strength.
When do people use it?
Reins, headstalls, latigos, half-breeds, belts, moccasin soles and more are excellent fits for leather like MTL latigo.
What thicknesses and sizes are available?
We offer four thickness to choose from for MTL: 5-7 oz, 7-8 oz, 9-10 oz and 10-12 oz. Sides average 25 square feet.

Your description says you have 5-7 ounce MTL Latigo but your option says 6-7 ounce. Which is it? Also, what is the 6-7 oz in inches? I see on another Latigo that is 5-7 oz. is about 3/32".
Hey David, they are a 5-7 ounce weight but average 6 oz, which translates to about 3/32". This is what is considered "string-weight" and is good for making saddle strings in particular.

What is the rough dimensions of this piece?
Hey Dominic! Of course there is variation in the neck and the butt, but the rough dimensions are about 7 1/2 feet long by 3 feet wide. They can reach 8 feet long, as well as 3 1/2 feet wide.
